2016’s 3rd overall pick signed a multi-year deal with Adidas before playing even a single minute in the NBA. But even after that successful partnership, Brown seems to have become so fed up with the big shoe brands that he was willing to turn down tens of millions dollars to start his own niche shoe brand. And voila, we now have the 741 Performance Brand, following the recent trend of single-athlete-shoe-brands like HOLO (Isaac Okoro), K8IROS (Spencer Dinwiddie) and UNITUS (Jonathan Isaac). Of course, Brown is on somewhat of a differnet plane than these fellows, but it remains to be seen whether any other NBAers will be willing to sign on with this new, risky project.
